Sachiko Tamura
Program Manager
Sachiko has contagious enthusiasm; she notices what’s good and isn’t afraid to celebrate it. As the lead Program Manager at ThinkDev, she primarily manages client communications and is committed to providing exceptional service for our clients. At ThinkDev, Sachiko has found her true calling in life, Ikigai, the sweet spot where passion, mission, and profession meet. Also at ThinkDev, she’s exercising her Kaizen skill everyday in her role, an incrementalist approach to making continuous improvement.
Sachiko especially enjoys transforming something strong into something superb (Maximizer that she is)! She has over 20 years of experience working in the education field. Curiosity is her superpower, Sachiko embraces the joy of lifelong learning. She adores collecting mindful moments, the thrill of gaining new perspectives, and the deep satisfaction of personal growth that lifelong learning brings.
Sachiko was born and raised near Tokyo, Japan. She came to the U.S. when she was 21, wanting to gain a broader perspective of the world. She earned a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies from UC Davis. She moved back to Japan in 2008 with then a toddler son and lived in a fantastic rural village in Gunma, then they moved back to California in 2014. Outside of work, she enjoys her time practicing Japanese songs – folk/pop/rock – on ukulele, listening to the Tim Ferriss Show on podcast, and experimenting home cooking with her now a teenage son, making fermented foods like kimchi, miso, and natto.
